Outdoor games are a place for communication, getting to know each other, and building friendships. 'Can I join you?' ('Darf ich mitmachen?') is a theater project by the collective 'unsettlement' for Russian- and German-speaking young people aged 14 to 20 at Theater Strahl Berlin. Together with the participants, we explored courtyard games, reflected on our experiences, and invent new games that allow us to practice solidarity and inclusion. Over the course of three days, the participants played games, created a performance space, shared practices of friendship and stories from their childhood.
As a result we have invited audience to play together on the yard of Culture House. Teenagers explained the rules of the games and navigated audience through the performance. In the yard garten was hidden several little glass jars with "secrets" in it. The objects inside this mini installations were connected to the personal story of the participant, which audience could read on the paper in Russian and German languages.
